KISS (1955)
- What 1983 movie was loosely based on the making of this film
and who played the director character based on Kubrick?
Strangers Kiss, directed by Matthew Chapman. Peter Coyote
(E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial [1982]) played a Kubrick-like director
named Stanley who tries to get his leading man and woman to have an
affair, to lend reality to his film.
- From where did most of the financing for the movie come?
Kubrick accumulated most of his financing from friends and relatives
(the same way he financed his first film, Fear and Desire).
Most of it, around $40,000, came from Kubricks uncle, Morris
Bousel, a Bronx pharmacist. For his contribution, Bousel was listed
as a producer on the film.
